Maybe there is an end in sight afterall

I have to give huge kudos to a handful of my coworkers.  When we started our project I think we had well over 2300 tasks to tackle.  As of when I logged out of my work computer this evening, there were less than 1000 tasks left. I will be glad when this is over, I've had ideas brewing in my head for things to work on, and I signed up for a membership at beadsandbeading.com so that I can learn a few techniques with polymer clay that I don't know how to do yet, and I'd really like to get started…

Artfire Crazy Train - Lovely Things

I'm taking a bit of a break tonight from the day job work, since I did extras yesterday and will do a few extra tomorrow to make up for it.  So since I have a little time for myself tonight, I figure I should at least post the Crazy Train rider for today and tomorrow, which is Lovely Things. There is such a wide variety of offerings at this studio, it's hard to know where to start.  Jewelry, sewn items, cards, paintings, crocheted and knitted items...tooth fairy pillows - so cute!! it just…

See you in about forty days

Relatively speaking. Kind of. This pertains to my full time day job. Short story, we're salaried. As thus, if our company wanted to make us work 16 hour days with no compensation other than our regular pay and a clap on the back, they could. The edict is to do "this task" by "this date". On paper, it is probably doable, IF everyone does a little every day, including weekends (so, I'm talking maybe 1-3 hrs a day, seven days a week, five weeks straight - on our own personal time). And most likely…

Artfire Crazy Train - Designs of Avalon

The first ArtFire Crazy Train rider for March, for the 1st and 2nd, is Designs of Avalon. Athena, who lives in New York, originally started out making jewelry, but has since switched gears to a new medium that I think is pretty ingenious, and I'll just say, the woman has some patience for sure! She still has some jewelry items available in her studio, though, so I'll show a couple of those, and then end with an item from her new medium. First, a pair of earrings made with Chrysocolla gemstone. …
