Positively Charming Things

I put a little countdown timer at the bottom of the page (it didn't really fit very well on the sidebar), more for me than anything else I guess.  I'm looking forward to a couple of days off when my daughter goes on Spring Break, even if we don't even go anywhere. We're working a lot of overtime at work, which, while is nice on the pocket book (finally - last year we were salaried and were exempt from OT... we got changed to hourly this year... small blessings, right?), it's rough on the brain…

She's six today. *sniff* Growing up so fast! We'll need to keep her main party low key since we just went to Disneyland a couple weeks ago, and it will probably be toward the end of the month to let a few people schedule some time off, even if it's just to take an extended "lunch break", which is what her dad will need to do. My husband and I started a diet, four weeks ago this Sunday.  We’re on NutriSystem, which so far, has been one of the better diet’s we’ve tried.  We’ve tried Atkins (lost pretty decently, gained it back and then some), and MediFast (lost ok, also gained back plus).  Atkins just seemed awfully strange, and MediFast was… lacking in palatability.  But so far there are only a small handful of NutriSystem items that I’m not fond of, and what is…

So, the whole reason I had to move my site over to ExpressionEngine sooner than I had planned, was because some bored h@ckers in Eastern Europe defaced my main page, getting in through my installation of WordPress. WordPress, which I had updated to the most recent version at that time, which was 3.0.

As you can see, I now have ExpressionEngine up and running my blog on my main domain now.  I have retired WordPress.  There are still quite a few things that EE can’t do that WP could, but I will just work around it.  The biggest good thing, I think, will be that this software should be a lot stronger in the security department. As I mentioned before I transitioned over to this software, when I imported all of my entries from WordPress, it created member profiles for anyone…

My blog may look a bit funky for a little bit. I'm trying a theme that will help me export my entries from WordPress into a format that I can import to another blog platform that I am going to experiment with, and it's going to mess up the look of this place while I do so. I will put everything back the way it looks now when I am done with it though, no worries. I have my database files back and a clean install of wordpress. If you see any problems let me know.  I know there may be some photo links on featured studio posts that are not working, but that is really the least of my worries at the moment.

So today was "bring your child to work day" at work, and I brought my four year old daughter with me. We had fun, and she got to play with one of her friends that she met at a coworker's daughter's birthday party. Apparently everyone did such a bang up job with the after hours work last week that they want to do it again this week. I guess they think we have no life outside of work or something. Geeze. I'm beginning to really hate being salaried.  *sigh*

But not as productive as I could have hoped for, because the "busy" part was all related to my day job.
