*tap*tap* Is this thing on?

Too busy to blog, too busy to craft…. Oh who am I kidding.  I just haven’t had the gumption to do either lately.  I’m kind of in a crafting purgatory - can’t really make up my mind what I want to do on any given day, if anything at all but sit and veg to t.v. or facebook/blog surfing. One day I decided I wanted to try making my own vectors, and downloaded a trial version of Illustrator.  Worked for several hours relearning it (been a while since I took…

Do you see what I see?

If it is working for everyone…. You may see something nifty-neato on my blog here that I figured out how to do tonight. You’ll need to be seeing my blog in a browser to see the spiffyness, so if you’re peeking at this via a reader or FB or something, please click through and have a closer look! Besides… I need for people to let me know if it worked! I know *I* can see it, but can you?

Contemplating site redesign

Because one post today just wasn’t enough. LOL Ok, anyway.  I’m finding myself contemplating redesigning my blog again.  Getting bored with it already I guess. The tough part?  My blog software doesn’t really come with any templates.  This one, and any new ones, will have to be hand made by me. There are *some* places that make templates for this platform, but very few free ones; and if I felt up to it, I could probably find one for another platform and port…

Perfect (almost) Steamed Veggies

My husband and I started a diet, four weeks ago this Sunday.  We’re on NutriSystem, which so far, has been one of the better diet’s we’ve tried.  We’ve tried Atkins (lost pretty decently, gained it back and then some), and MediFast (lost ok, also gained back plus).  Atkins just seemed awfully strange, and MediFast was… lacking in palatability.  But so far there are only a small handful of NutriSystem items that I’m not fond of, and what is…

Oops, I disappeared!

Sorry about that.  My blog seemed to have gone *poof* for a day, I suspect it was when I did an upgrade on my old WordPress blog software, it decided to overwrite my index file.  While I don’t use that program anymore, and no one can see anything in it, I am keeping it updated in case I change my mind and want to switch back to it. Anyway, my page is back to normal again.  Yay! And I think I *may* have solved my quandary over how to get my blog to post to several social…

Saga of the ruined painting

I have an old painting that I started in my senior year of high school, which my then-teacher effectively ruined by painting upon it with her firm idea of what she thought I should be doing with it. Here is a picture:     I used a photograph from some book for the fuschia flowers in the background; the butterfly in the foreground was something I added to fill in the picture.  My intent was for the butterfly to be sort of transparent.  My teacher was not fond of this idea and…

How about a Bow give away?

So my last give away had a few takers, so let’s see how many will jump in for this one!  Leave a comment on this post to enter to win your choice of any of the bows in the photos in my last post except the ones with spikes & loops (those would be the 4th of July bows, and the two Easter bows that are in the middle, horizontally, in the first photo of just the bows). We’ll set the end date this Saturday night, March 12, and I’ll draw a winner on Sunday, March 13. …

The winning stitch markers

Since the winner of the stitch markers has verified she received them (and likes them ), I’ll go ahead and post a couple of pictures of them. I made some others based on the rest of the suggestions that were given to me in the contest but I haven’t had a chance to photograph them yet.  I might aim to do that this weekend, and post them for sale as well if I can determine what price I should list them for.

Freeway observations

I carpool with my husband, so I’m writing this as we sit in rush hour traffic. Why is it that very few drivers, when merging on an on-ramp from two lanes to one, do their best to try to get around the one by one merge method?  It’s like having to twist their arms to get the point across - no, you may NOT get in front of me, I already let the ONE car in that I was supposed to! And then the jerks that try to stay in a lane that is ending for construction until the last possible…

Happy 1-11-11

While this date is neat, I think 11/11/11 will be even neater. But anyway.  I have to brag a little.  I sold a necklace yesterday to one of my co-workers.    It’s my first in-state sale, so I’ll have to report my sales tax for the first time since I got my tax license a year and a half ago. Thanks, co-worker!  You know who you are.
