Positively Charming Things

I picked up my daughter from daycare today, but before we could walk out of the door, she dashed down to her classroom where her cubby is located.  I asked her what she was doing, she said, "I'm going to get my invitations!" Okay... When she came back, with a stack of roughly bookmark shaped cuts of construction paper in hand, I asked her, "What invitations?" "To my birthday party, at JumpStreet!" ...her birthday is not for another six months. So apparently she is already planning her birthday…

My daughter is just about to lose her third tooth.  It's just loose enough to give me the heebie-jeebies when she shows it to me, but not quite enough to come out yet. For her first two teeth, the tooth fairy had to sneak into her room and swap the tooth for money from under her pillow. This time, there will be a pillow hanging from her doorknob, for easy access without risk of waking the sleeping girl.  I found this pattern and decided I'd give it a shot. On our California trip, shortly after we left Solvang, CA to head up the Pacific Coast Highway to Half Moon Bay, our daughter asked to take pictures.  We have a small point and shoot digital camera so I gave her that one.  She took nearly 100 pictures before we took it away because she kept touching the lens. Oops.  I just realized the last three pics are some that I took, ah well. [nggallery id=3]

I closed my studio there the other day. All of my items are now residing at my Etsy shop. If Artfire keeps up the way they're going, they won't have enough customers to support their company anymore and they'll go belly up.  In fact, I'll be rather surprised if they last another two years.  They've pretty much shot themselves in the foot.
