Giving gifts for a birthday past due

Here are two pins that I'll be putting in the mail on Tuesday for my grandmother's 80th birthday, which was in August.  Yep, quite late, for various reasons. [singlepic id=1 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=center] [singlepic id=2 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=center] I hope she likes them.

Reorganized

I figured I'd reorganize the blog space a bit, I moved one of the columns over to the left side, and then added a "handmade holiday" badge over on the right.  I would like to try to buy handmade stuff again this year, as I tried to do two years ago.  Not quite sure what I'll find to buy for people yet.  I guess I better get to looking!

Finally! My Artfire studio is live!

I was finally able to make heads or tails of my craft area enough so that I could set up my light box to take better pictures of my items.  Then I got those listed at my studio, so without further ado: Positively Charming Things You can also find the link in the tabs above. I listed thirteen jewelry pieces for now, ranging in price from $5.50 for a cute faux pearl bracelet, to $81.95 for a beautiful amethyst and crystal chip necklace, bracelet and earring set. Enjoy! 😊

Plurk: how to change color of responding text

I joined Plurk not too long ago, and so far it's great.  Just the other day, I discovered a place where you can find a Plurk profile template, click a button, and it installs the code to your profiel for you. The only problem is, on a few of them, the color of the "respond" text is darn near invisible, and makes it nearly impossible to read what you're typing when you reply to someone's Plurk. I figured out, at least in the template that I have, where to make the change to darken the text. My…

Workspace reorganization in progress

I guess it's sort of coming along.  After yesterday's post, I did actually get some work done in my office here at home, with moving some things around.  I moved the hutch from one side of my desk to the other, and then moved my iMac down to sit in front of the window where the hutch used to be.  There was a marked difference in the light in the room, even in the early evening, once I got that hutch moved. I dusted my PC monitor, my iMac and my desk (the dust bunnies tried to run, but I…

So much for that feeling of relief

Apparently everyone did such a bang up job with the after hours work last week that they want to do it again this week. I guess they think we have no life outside of work or something. Geeze. I'm beginning to really hate being salaried.  *sigh*

A very busy week

But not as productive as I could have hoped for, because the "busy" part was all related to my day job. The salaried workers in my department were unwillingly committed to working after hours to whittle down our backlog of orders.  I got about twenty knocked out the first night (Monday), then felt like a total vegetable Tuesday evening so didn't lift a finger to do anything, work related or otherwise... Wednesday I took my daughter out to our weekly Chick-fil-A kid's eat free dinner, and by the…

Progress is slow

Well, originally I had hoped to officially open up shop at Artfire and Etsy by the beginning of August, but that is not happening yet.  My workspace was getting cluttered again, so I felt it was time to rearrange things and try to reorganize the area to hopefully free up my creativity.  I also wanted to set up a space for taking photos so I would not need to take everything out to the kitchen to set up. I'm still in the midst of reorganizing.  I spent a good part of Saturday and Sunday…

Welcome one and all!

Ok, I got things dusted off fairly quickly.  I decided to nix my e-commerce site and go with Etsy and Artfire, linked from here.  The links are up above, underneath my banner, and when I post things for sale in either one, I'll update in a post with more links. My e-commerce page is technically still around, I just moved it to a different directory.  To be honest I just wasn't interested in keeping it up and whatnot, since if the shopping cart needed to be updated, I had to do it all…
